The game was back-and-forth heading into the fourth, with six lead changes.
The RHLL AAA Nationals finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fourth inning. Ben scored on a wild pitch and gave the Nationals the lead for good.
The Nationals held off the Royals, as the Royals were unable to overcome a three-run fourth inning deficit.
Jacob, Khalil and Frankie all combined for four hits and three RBIs.
The Royals jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. A double by Kenneth Howells, scoring Jack Lotz started the inning off.
The Nationals answered the AAA Royals’ top inning with four runs of their own in the second. The RHLL AAA Nationals scored on a couple of solid hits by Jake and Kahlil and an an RBI single by Francis.
The AAA Royals tied the game in the third and then got a run in the fourth inning and another in the fifth.
The RHLL AAA Nationals went up for good in the fourth scoring four total runs, which came home on two singles.
CJ had a huge catch in right field in the sixth to preserve the win. Jake came on and shut down the Royals. Final score Nationals 9 Royals 7.
